Madeleine Briem works with business development in the technology team – a dynamic job with many interfaces within the organization. She has helped drive several projects, including technology selection and commercial negotiations. “I work closely with different teams in the organization and leverage the immense knowledge of many of my fantastic colleagues, which means that I’m learning new things every day.”

Madeleine is Swedish but grew up in the UK, studied for her Bachelor’s abroad before moving to Stockholm in 2016. She previously worked for the strategic advisory firm Brunswick Group, the iZettle fintech company and impact hub Norrsken, before finishing her Master’s in Business and Management at Stockholm School of Economics. “I started working at H2 Green Steel after my first year at business school when the team was only 15 people. I’ve been here ever since and it’s been amazing to see how much we’ve grown and what we’ve achieved over such a short period of time.”As one of the first employees in the company, she is aligned with the purpose to decarbonize hard-to-abate industries and she sees the potential to drive change. “I can’t think of a more exciting place to work that has a more direct impact on climate change than H2 Green Steel.”Madeleine highlights the problem-solving and can-do mindset all her colleagues share. “That makes this project go from seemingly impossible to possible. Being part of the team that leads the green industrial revolution is what motivates me every day.” “I never saw myself working at a steel company but right now I can’t see myself working anywhere else.”
