Water is essential in our production process for a variety of purposes such as hydrogen and steam production, as well as for cooling. Being a part of our technology team, Shamma Damani has a key role when it comes to water. Let’s get to know her better!    

Shamma, tell us more about what you do!  
My job involves treating the raw water available to ensure it meets the required quality standards and provides enough water for different purposes. 

What is your background?  
I have completed my bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and have a master’s degree in environmental engineering. I previously worked for VA Tech Wabag in India, a company that specializes in designing water, wastewater treatment, and desalination solutions, among other things. Most recently I worked for WSP in the Middle East as a water sector consultant. 

What was it that made you join H2 Green Steel? 
When many were still discussing how to achieve a green transition and a fossil fuel-free future, H2 Green Steel took the lead in hard-to-abate industries. I was instantly ready (in fact excited!) to be a part of this impactful start-up. Also, it was a good chance to be a part of a super smart, energetic and future-ready team! 

How does it feel to have moved so far? 
Moving to Sweden has been an incredible experience. Being so close to nature and having a great work-life balance is exactly what I was looking for. Moreover, the people around here are incredibly friendly and helpful, which makes everything so much easier.
